Vicky Hansen, LMFTA

About Vicky

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support takes courage, and my goal is to create a space where you feel deeply understood, accepted, and supported from the moment we begin. I’m an empathetic, down-to-earth therapist with over 25 years of experience helping people navigate life transitions, relationships, stress, identity questions, and moments of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Before entering the therapy field, I spent decades working closely with students and adults in higher education—supporting them through academic stress, personal challenges, crisis situations, and major life changes. That experience taught me how resilient people can be, and how powerful it is to have someone in your corner who genuinely listens. I bring that same grounded, compassionate presence into my therapy work today.

I hold a Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University and a Master of Science in Education in Counseling and Development: Student Affairs from Purdue University. I am a Washington State Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

My professional path has included providing 500+ hours of clinical therapy, serving as a senior academic adviser for thousands of students, and owning a childcare business where I partnered closely with families in the community. Across all of these roles, I’ve been guided by the same belief: people deserve to feel supported, empowered, and deeply cared for.

Approach

I believe healing happens in relationship—when you feel safe, seen, and met with curiosity rather than judgment. In our work together, I collaborate with you as an equal partner, helping you explore your story, reconnect with your strengths, and build the life and relationships you want.

My approach is warm, relational, and trauma-informed. I draw from several evidence-based models including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and systemic therapy. I also have training in Autism and ADHD interventions and enjoy supporting neurodivergent clients and families.

My work is rooted in equity, harm reduction, and honoring your lived experience. You are the expert on your life; my role is to help you feel supported, grounded, and capable of meaningful change.

I welcome individuals, couples, teens, and families. Many of the people I work with are juggling multiple responsibilities, navigating major transitions, or longing for more connection and stability in their lives or relationships. Others come in wanting to heal from past experiences, understand patterns that no longer serve them, or feel more confident in who they are becoming.

No matter what you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my warmth, steadiness, and ability to make them feel at ease. Therapy with me is a place where you can exhale—where you can be honest, take up space, and work through things at your own pace. Together, we’ll build clarity, connection, and paths toward healing that honor both who you are and who you want to become.

If any part of this resonates with you, I’d be honored to connect.
