I’m a student therapist studying Couples and Family therapy and sex therapy at Antioch University. I was born and raised in New Mexico and moved to the Seattle area about 3 years ago. I am a Hispanic, queer, polyamorous, and neurodivergent person with a desire to help people and make the best out of life with what I have. I have a professional background in massage therapy and community health education, influencing my passion for wholistic health and health equity. Outside of work and school, I enjoy relaxing at home with my cat, playing video games, reading, or consuming other forms of media. I equally enjoy expressing my creativity, being physically active, connecting to nature, and trying new things. I appreciate working with a diverse range of people and keep myself open to learning about the wide array of experiences each person has. I have particular interest in working with individuals, couples, or families facing challenges regarding sexuality, neurodivergence, non-monogamy and/or disrupting generational patterns.
I believe that each person is the expert in their own lives. I am here to facilitate one’s understanding of themselves and their experiences and relationships in a safe, collaborative, and authentic space. While I like to take an integrative approach and allow for flexibility based on a person’s needs, my philosophy is rooted in systems theory, wholistic health, and somatic awareness. My therapeutic perspective comes from an understanding that our intersecting identities can create a whirlpool of conflict within ourselves and our relationships. Healing isn’t about completely omitting the conflict but about learning how to find harmony and balance within ourselves and learning how to come back to balance when conflict arises.
My obligatory bio quote comes from my favorite book series, The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson:
“It will,” Wit said, “but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you, Kaladin: You will be warm again.”
