I am a graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Seattle Pacific University, and an empty nester with two emerging adult daughters also studying psychology and neuroscience. After years in hi-tech, I am excited to be pivoting into a career focused on the human element. Personal fulfillment is an elusive thing, and we find ourselves on a journey of twists and turns. It’s easy to lose ourselves. Or perhaps we have never found ourselves. We deal with traumas and transitions that can leave us empty and wondering. Having been through many of these, I am grateful to have this perspective to work with children through adults, wherever they find themselves and help them through life’s challenges. I am here to tell you, there is joy on the other side.
My approach is a blend of solution-based and emotionally focused therapy, grounded in family systems theory, holistic health and neuroscience. To quote Virginia Satir, sometimes “the problem is not the problem.” Together, we will consider your unique context to understand your life’s influences and current stressors, and explore strengths and resources to adjust and grow. We will explore beliefs of self and emotions which drive behaviors and interactions with partners, children, and others. I also utilize tools to address our over-functioning nervous system and reduce anxiety. I strive to offer a space of authenticity, openness and respect, without judgment. I would be honored to walk with you along this part of your journey.
I accept most Washington State Insurance Plans as well as an out of network rate of $40 per hour.
