Welcome. Reaching out for support can be the hardest part about making change, and I’m so glad you’re here. My goal is to meet you where you are and hold a space in which you feel seen, heard, and known from the moment we begin. I strive to embody empathy, genuine warmth, and curiosity.
Before entering the field of therapy, I worked for over 25 years as a teacher and teacher educator, supporting children, families, and communities across cultures. In recent years, I’ve taught yoga, meditation, and rest practices. This accumulated experience, as well as being a parent of three––the most meaningful and challenging role of my life––has deepened my understanding that we don’t exist in silos or as problems to be solved, but that we are all interconnected.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, cooking, yoga, meditation, and all things movement, especially in the grounding and healing force of nature. I also love transporting myself to other countries and cultures through books, film, or travel.
I believe in a simple truth: when our nervous systems are settled, and when we feel seen and understood, we can thrive. We already have everything we need to heal within us. There's something powerful in naming what's been hidden, bringing feelings out of the shadows and into the light. When we surface the emotions that are actually driving things––often fear or hurt––the naming itself becomes transformative.
I approach therapy with whole-hearted listening and radical acceptance for your lived experiences. My work is person-centered and informed by Narrative Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness, or attuning to what the body holds: both the pain and the beauty. I want our work together to help you live your life more freely and fully, pursue your dreams, and experience safety, contentment, and joy––for yourself, for the relationships in your life, and for future generations.
I’m especially drawn to work with adolescents and the people who love them. Maybe you are an adolescent, making your way through this stressful, turbulent, and beautiful season of discovery. Maybe you are a parent in midlife, caring for your children while simultaneously tending to aging parents. Maybe you are interacting with anxiety, life transitions, women’s issues, interpersonal challenges, and/or self-esteem concerns. Whatever brings you in, know that I will honor all of the parts of you: your identity, culture, values, and lived experiences, and I look forward to accompanying you along your path.
