My previous work in social services and higher education led me to recognize my calling to work in the field of therapy. I received my Master of Arts degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University. I have received additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an empirically-backed systemic approach to therapy for individuals, couples, and families, as well as having been certified in Level 1 of the Gottman Method for couples' therapy. My therapeutic practice is grounded in person-centered, emotionally-focused, and narrative approaches to therapy. I believe that it is incumbent upon me as your therapist to recognize your unique context and experiences to responsively craft a therapeutic experience that best fits my approach and your needs.
I am a native of the Seattle area and I’m thankful to take in the beauty of the region that we live in, no matter the season! In my free time I enjoy cooking for friends and family, running, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and cheering on the Mariners.
In the various seasons of struggle that life brings our way, therapy can be a space for reflection, healing, and growth. The decision to seek out therapy can be an intimidating one, and yet the decision to reach out for support, to take a step back to examine your life and relationships, to seek out growth and healing, is a courageous step towards change. At varying points in our lives, we all can benefit from the support and resources for growth accessed in the deepening of self-understanding found through therapy.
As a systemic therapist, my training and therapeutic approach takes seriously the contexts of our lives, how each of us, our struggles and our joys, are formed and shaped in relationship with our environment, communities, and those closest to us. I aim to build an authentic connection with my clients as the safety and trust forged will be the foundation of our work together. I believe that the therapeutic relationship must be a safe, warm, and inviting space in order for therapy to be effective. I desire to walk with my clients in their hopes, fears, and aspirations towards healing and change. My therapeutic style is grounded in care for the whole person, an appreciative warmth and support for each of my clients, and an emphasis on the strengths and wisdom you embody from your lived experience. In this work, I am continually humbled by my clients’ courage to show up for themselves with honest vulnerability. It is an honor to be welcomed into the inner world of each of my clients.
