My journey to become a therapist began my junior year of college, when feeling lost and confused about what I should focus my studies on I randomly chose to sign up for a Psychology 101 course. It was love at first “read” you may say, as I found the subject not only fascinating to study, but one I could apply to better my own life experience. From there I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington, and after a few life chapters in between which included raising a family, living in Luxembourg, and working in preschool and school settings, went back to get my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. Although not completely a Seattle native as I immigrated to the US in the 1990s from Poland, Seattle has been home for the last 30 years. I love this city for many reasons, with the top one being able to get outdoors and spend time by the water or in the mountains, in a matter of hours or minutes depending on where you are at the moment.
When working with me you will be safe to show up as you are. With honesty leading, I will guide us to gain an understanding of what is preventing you in experiencing the life and relationships you yearn for. Once we know the patterns that get you stuck, we move to practicing new ways of being and releasing coping strategies that no longer serve. Our work is always collaborative and meant to empower you to understand your drives and yearnings. As a clinician I am trained in and draw upon the following treatment modalities: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Techniques.
For clients looking to process traumatic experiences I am an EMDR trained therapist and can offer this modality in addition to talk therapy.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you and your loved ones.
