Alex graduated with honors from Antioch University, Seattle, with an MA in Couples/Family Therapy. Her journey into the world of helping others was shaped by personal experiences with some amazing (and some terrible) therapists. Through these experiences, Alex developed what some have called an annoyingly unshakable belief that, given an adequate environment and support, everyone has the innate ability to heal themselves.
Alex specializes in supporting families, couples, and adult individuals navigating a variety of acute and chronic life stressors. She enjoys collaborating with a neurodivergent client base, knowing the difficulty in navigating a world designed without these minds in mind. Symptoms brought on by anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma(s), and low-support needs Autism Spectrum Disorder require creative and unique approaches to make this world work for them. Alex also specializes in supporting clients facing challenges related to parenting at different stages of development, substance abuse/dependency, and relationship betrayals, as well as age-related and other chronic illnesses.
Through telehealth, Alex provides accessible therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other chronic illness. She strives to create a safe, respectful space for clients to express their full range of emotions. Alex integrates modalities like Strategic and Structural Family Therapy, CBT, DBT, and ACT to help clients acknowledge and honor the coping skills that have helped them survive moment to moment, and to incorporate a wider range of coping skills to help them work toward longer-term life goals. For those interested in exploring the origins of maladaptive coping strategies, she incorporates narrative therapy, IFS, and somatic experiencing. As well as providing therapy for families (including couples and other combinations of loved ones), and individuals, Alex also facilitates telehealth groups focusing on mindfulness and gratitude, emotional awareness and regulation skills, and boundaries.
Alex is in network with Premera as well as out of network coverage.
